Songs Unsung presents my collection of poems, ballads and song lyrics. With the musical skills of a tone-deaf troubadour lost in space and time, I do have a pleasant and demanding day job as a teacher at a good college. I enjoy writing songs (as Harry would say, "late at night, when the shop is dark and closed") and perhaps some of these songs unsung will be recorded and sung . . . perhaps by you. I demo some of them here, A cappella. . . and I apologize that my "voice lacks the range of tonal color necessary to make it [the least bit] interesting" (ibid). But as you also see and hear, more of them are being recorded by artists from around the world every day (well, . . . maybe every month). If you see (or hear) something you like, let me know. I give virtually full artistic freedom to the recording artist, even to modify the lyrics if they feel that is needed, as well the lead song credits and rights. Indeed, I wish to remain obscure. Whether you think you might adapt one of these lyrics or not, let me know what you think, especially if the words and story strike a chord within you.
Oh, I forgot the boilerplate . . . I'm 60 now and I have been writing songs since I was 58 (whew, time flies when you're havin' fun!). I tried singing in a choir, but they made me mouth the words. Sometimes I sing from my heart, but that sounds almost as bad.
