“We’re all awake in theory. It just seems that fewer and fewer of us want to get up and do something about the world we live in.”
This is the driving force behind one of DFW’s fastest-growing rock bands, Awake in Theory. After years of sleeping through the music scene as 12 Gauge Warning and with the addition of new talent from across the country, AIT has created an identity to match the ideology and feeling of their new music. “Nothing in this life is given and you have to earn every opportunity and waste none,” says guitarist Brad McCain.
AIT’s live show brings testament to this with emotion in each note and wakes the crowd with the hard-hitting sound that follows. Drummer Raymond Chambers and bassist "Johnny Rocket" create the sound while guitarists Brad "The Senator" McCain and Terry “Twig” Kimmel set the tone leaving lead singer Eric Hawkens to bring the room to a boil before the electricity of the music all together explodes in the room.
With a new album, “Beyond the Lifeless Fields” set for production in Spring 2013 and a rabid fan base ready for the full tour schedule already in progress, Awake in Theory looks to make an impression on every ear they touch and remind the masses to truly live their lives “awake.”
