Born in France, Frederic was adopted by a G.I. and brought here to the U.S. in time to attend the first grade. Torn between sports & music the latter easily won out by the time he had turned 16. While attending Peabody he friended Michael Hedges, jammed/shared bills with Nils Lofgren in local venues, and met Hiram Bullock, Chester Thompson to mention only a couple of musicians destined to make a mark on the musical community in various ways.
After a short stint as tech/roadie for Jimi Hendrix, Fred was asked to come to NYC with his group "Meat" (name inspired by hero/ friend Frank Zappa) to audition at Electric Lady not knowing just who it was for. He soon found out when he arrived, got a 2-year recording deal with Michael Jeffries, who also managed, Jimi, The Animals, Aire Apparent and Soft Machine to name a few, and was on the way to realizing his dream at 17.
After Jimi passed away Fred returned to Paris to mourn his hero's passing and jam with a great list of Europe's finest acts, and after 3 years returned to the States homesick as can be. He formed or helped to create "Calico", "Climbadonkey", "Trigger Happy", a newly re-formed "Atlanta Rhythm Section" while camped out in Atlanta, "Charlie Don't Surf", and "This World" (ex-"Facedancer"). Throughout his career he has performed countless live gigs and done recording sessions in Paris, London, New York, Atlanta, San Francisco, and Nashville. When Fred lived on Kent Island, his old friend Paul Reed Smith wasn't thrilled that Fred wanted to ride his bike to work at PRS guitars. "You should be playing these guitars Fred, not building or shipping them".
Having opened and toured for the likes of “Emerson, Lake & Palmer", "Firefall", "Robert Palmer", "Bryan Adams", "Dr. Hook", "Molly Hatchett" "The Outlaws", "Joe Perry" of "Aerosmith" and a host of others, Fred has learned his lessons well entertaining for years and loves doing it. He is an active member of "The Frederick Christian Fellowship" and tries to show others Christian values by example while performing for the congregation whenever he is in the area.
