After writing/reciting some make-shift, recreational, raps
for a couple of his close High School peers (including a
childhood friend with whom He'd go on to form the group
'Shades of Greh'), Blacks was encouraged
to continue writing and honing his craft; and reassured that he
possessed the required skill/potential to be successful.
During the following years, Blacks focused on evolving his flow,
cadence, confidence, lyrical capability, subject matter,
memorization and song structure.
Soon after attending Humber College (Multimedia design & Production Technician),
Blacks was scouted/recruited and aligned with Controversy Ent.
through a mutual acquaintance, as they shared the
common goal and task of becoming a potent and positive influence and brand
in the industry; as well as showcasing talent, and manufacturing a quality product
for the consumer.
After compiling music from his 3 main sources (Naweed Productions, BlackGhost Productions, Monstarz Ent.),
Blacks is wrapping up writing and recording for his debut mixtape and main project:
'BlakMarket Dubplates' and 'Tha BlakMarket'; as well as performing at showcases,
open-mic's, competitions, and various HipHop events; and working on promo/marketing/videos,etc.
Current singles (as listed above), 'Invest In Me' and 'Never Will I (The Integrity Song)
"I take great pride in, feel a heavy burden/obligation in regards to focusing on
the lyrical aspect of the craft, which I believe is greatly lacking as of late within
the HipHop World; and therefore, I aspire to be the alternative.
I think of 'Blacks' almost as a separate entity and persona; He's musically stubborn,
He believes in beats, rhymes, and not much else.
I try to stay true to the essence and purity of Rap/MCing; while expressing
My views, thoughts and opinions, in a clever and creative package that comes across as pleasing to the HipHop listeners ear.
I aspire to spread My music and msg across the World, amass enough wealth to
comfortably support My family/friends, acknowledge and give back to the art-form,
as well as city/country I came from, and continue to be the manifestation of the quote:
'HipHop is not dead, you just have to know under which rock to look.'"
