SkyFight are an original pop-punk, rock band from the Peterborough area. The four members Dan, Kerry, Alex and Toby all met while they were music students at Peterborough Regional College. Kerry is the lead vocalist and the newest member of the band joining in 2012. Dan (songwriter and guitars), Alex (bass guitar) and Toby (drummer) came together in 2011 as part of the original line up.
The band formed on 7/07/2011 as the covers band ‘The 707’, taking their name from the first 3 digits of that date. Although they have gained a reputation as a pub band, they have ambitions beyond this. They made it to the regional final of MMG Battle of the Bands 2013 and although they didn't make it through to the next round they have been invited to perform on the 2013 ‘hi-jack’ tour.
Dan Nufrio, the songwriter lead guitarist, has been playing since he was 12 years old. With inspiration from such bands as Green Day and Biffy Clyro has always wanted to play in a band. He has been a guest guitarist for one of the best local bands in Peterborough: ‘Children of the Revolution’.
Kerry Meatyard, the lead singer, began performing from a very young age. After joining her local choir at the age of 5, she developed a keen interest in the performing arts, and as well as a dancer and an actor she is the ‘front man’ of the band and a very talented singer. A keen Jessie J and Paramore fan.
Alex Whittle plays bass guitar and has been playing since the age of 16. His influences are Rush, Metallica, Porcupine Tree and Opeth. He loves all kinds of music from all different genres and hopes one day to become a professional guitar teacher/performer/songwriter.
Toby Bass is the drummer and has been playing the drums from the age of 11. Inspired by Dave Grohl and Travis Barker he learnt the drums while at school and has performed in many school concerts.
Together Dan, Kerry, Alex and Toby are SkyFight…
