Vocalist Corina Corina was born in Oakland, CA, and is the eldest child of two political activists who were inspired to name her after the blues classic, Corina Corina. Now Brooklyn-based, she brings a fresh and melodic vocal hybrid to hip hop and modern R&B. Corina gained recognition in the New York independent hip-hop scene by collaborating with artists like Homeboy Sandman (Stones Throw), Jesse Abraham (Fat Beats), and internationally acclaimed producer, Willie Green (Fake Four). Her debut solo album, The Eargasm (2012), which she co- produced with Green, touches on everything from gender inequality to self-love to resisting social norms; this loud and proud bi-sexual woman holds nothing back. Beatsmiths Has-Lo (a Philly-based producer critically hailed in Pitchfork & XXL) and Steel Tipped Dove (known for his work with Kool AD & Big Baby Ghandi) helped create an unmistakable, original sound.
In the spring of 2013, Corina booked her first month-long national tour which included two artist showcases at the South by Southwest music festival. Alongside her tour partner, popular Minneapolis rapper Toussaint Morrison she extended her fan base in 18 cities across the country. The tour was such a success that she is already planning two more in 2013. In addition to her solo work, Corina also performs in the acoustic blues duo Max Caddy whose debut EP, "Caddy Tracks" has garnered exceptional praise from fans and music journalists. Currently, Corina Corina is working to release “Come Again: The Eargasm Extended,” a six-track EP featuring remixes and extended tracks from the Eargasm plus and all new song featuring Tommy Boy recording artist, Angi3. She is also planning more tours and more recording with Willie Green. Her next album will surely is sure to bring more raw lyrics, hard-hitting beats, and dramatic vocal delivery.
