With a voice that sounds like it is wrapped in silk and sandpaper, songs that play like short films over his firmly rooted in roots, alt-country (as he calls it "two step bugaloo") sound, Steve Barrie is making ripples on the West coast singer/songwriter scene.
Steve has toured with some of the biggest names in music and seen first-hand what it takes "play the game". After an early start, and a long successful run playing lead guitar as the hired gun in many different bands Barrie found himself at an artistic crossroads. He no longer wanted to be the guitar slinger for hire, he wanted to become the songwriter. During this time he started working as a guitar tech on the road for numerous bands, had a family and ultimately ended up landing a gig as Snoop Dogg's stage manager. That experience was a major inspiration for him to dust off his own guitar and get back to writing the kind of music he loves - simple songs with great stories delivered flawlessly. Reflecting on his time on the road supporting other acts Barrie says "It was cool. I travelled the world in style to places I would have never dreamt of going. It was a fun and good job, but not really what I wanted do for a living. The one thing I did take from it was that great music, played by musicians that enjoy what they're doing will always win people over!"
Full length release due Summer 2013!
