When asked to play their first show opening up for the Gin Blossoms in Temecula, Ca, Midnight Satellites only had one original song. A few years up until then, they had only been a band getting together to jam their favorite fusion, blues and classic tunes in the local valley. The following months in late 2012 found them on songwriting purge and immediately they stumbled upon songs with gritty and catchy melodies pushed by dirty guitar riffs and soaring choruses. The honest lyrics and easily digested songwriting help Midnight Satellites appeal to a broad audience, yet the subtle musicianship, time signature changes and syncopation will intrigue the listener who is looking for more than just a rock song. Almost a year after audience demand to record these songs, the band entered the studio with Alex Pappas (Finch) and percussion legend Jackie Bertone (Beach Boys, Tower of Power) to record an EP. Quickly following the release the band has been an unrelenting force. They are found packing local pubs and venues, being found on terrestrial and internet radio, self booking 200 shows in 2013 including slots with Hoobastank, Andrew WK, Uncle Kracker, the famous Camp Pendleton Mud Runs and Fourth of July beach bash to over 50,000 people. Their passion is playing music and there seems to be no smothering this fire anytime soon.
