Christine Bowen is a Christian singer/songwriter from Michigan. She is currently a music student at the University of Michigan-Flint with a concentration on voice. Her music style ranges from blues to electronic to pop. She love all kinds of music. Her first musical influence for writing was a Christian R&B group call Out of Eden. She began writing lyrics and melodies when she was 10 years old. As a teen she would sing in choir at her church, Family Worship Center Church in Flint, Michigan. But that would be her only experience singing in front of others for quite a while. Instead she spent her time writing and recording. Since her brother, Brand3d, is a Christian rapper, she would first start singing to beats that he wasn't using. But still, no once except family and friends would hear her sing for a while.
It wasn't until she decided to go to school for music that she began to open up and share her music with others. She found great support at her school. That's where she met Michael Abbasspour of Brown Sugar, who became her guitarist and helped her to start performing. She is now performing her own music and fronting a band who specializes in 1970's funk. She is also working on completing an album with producer Billy Smiley in Nashville.
When Christine isn't working on music, you could find her going on random adventures, such as canoeing in a cave or just simply enjoying a classic novel at an independently owned coffee shop. She firmly believes that everyone needs a good adventure once in a while.
