Fatal X / Bio

And God said let there be metal...

My name's Jeremy Young; and I am Fatal X. I was born in Houston, Texas on June 28th, 1978.

My idea to start a band and take over the world one fan at a time began in 1997. I was in prison at the time, so all I could really do was learn the guitar, and write music. I played a handful of shows to the general population, and knew that when I got out, I'd form a band and continue playing the music I loved.

Released in 2003, I immediately began scouting for bandmates. I found quite a few musicians in the area, and ended up with Dax Schroeder as drummer and Casey Cameron on bass guitar. After months of work, Fatal X released it's first album "Demons" on our own website, and it was downloaded by thousands. We began playing shows on the road, and for the next 3 years or so, Fatal X would begin to turn into the band I always thought I'd be in...

Throughout the bands career; we've played many shows throughout Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin; playing with many great bands like Payn stayk, Helicon, Left 4 Dead, and many, many others. Our shows always kicked ass, and I always had the most fun doing it... never really made any money; what money we made on the road we generally spent on the road... our parties were pretty legendary...

Eventually tho, life on the road took it's toll on all of us, and we settled down for a year or so to record "Rage" and begin the planning of our next tour, which was supposed to go National -- Fatal X was to play shows from California to Florida; we were really going to do this thing that makes a band a "band"....

Real life; however; was about to intervene...

In 2007; Just as Rage was in the middle of recording stages, Life threw me a hell of a curve-ball and took away my little sister, Jen, who was killed overseas. For the next 2 years, Fatal X continued to play shows, but the thing began to go downhill... I'd lost my sense of direction; looked in about a thousand bottles of Vodka for answers that just didn't exist.... After winning a Battle of the Bands competition in Chicago, I decided to put Fatal X on the back burner for the time being to really get a hold of myself and get back to who I am and want to be...

I flew to Florida to record the rest of "Rage!", and it was completed in December of 2008; released in January of 2009. We never toured; all the plans I'd made in 2007 had gone down the drain; and even tho "Rage!" was released and downloaded by thousands; I just didn't have it in me anymore to keep the thing going...

In 2010, Fatal X began work on our 3rd album "Honesty", and before we could begin recording, Dax and Casey parted ways with Fatal X.

Solo once again; I'm continuing work on the album "Honesty", 4 of the songs are here on this page; the other 5 or so are going to be completely fuckin' brutal; and I'm pretty excited to get them finished up when I can.... With a baby on the way; it seems this band thing is going to get tricky...

I'm by no means done; and neither is Fatal X. I've worked for years at this thing, and I don't imagine I'll ever stop. Soon, friends, you will see Fatal X again... a Better, Bigger, Stronger version of the band I always wanted to have.
