So what do you do when your bands’ name gets lifted? Play pool, NINE ball or all 15.
This band formed years ago as Karlsbad when Joey Griffith and Mark Bergeson refound each other living in Andover from their Waltham/Belmont roots. As a power rock trio with Karl Gadomski’s drums we sounded great and we played a number of gigs. Then we decided to find a front man to keep us from being glued to our microphones all night -> to improve our performance. Along came Mark Eugenio which led to the reformation of Joey’s former “Exit Laughing” with other EL player’s drummer Tad Neuman and keyboardist Michel Iodice. Exit Laughing performed ‘live’ rock and roll all over the New England area from Maine to Connecticut in clubs, halls and restaurants with as few as 4 and as many as 7 musicians. They were the ‘House band’ for a great number of venues. Female vocalists Laura Diamond, Caroline Gibson and Nerida Rojas (wow, what a guitarist) spent many gigs with us and we have been blessed with a cacophony of great drummers like Larry Harvey, Brian Gidley, Paul Whitmore and Steve Dow. John Ditty discovered us, the Audio Infidels, at a benefit concert and decided to take up our open drummer position. That brought the ‘live performance’ aspect of NINE 15 up a notch and you’re likely to enjoy watching us perform. Joey, MarkB, MarkE and John bring real life to their performances and never cease to amaze the casual listener as to the breadth of our repertoire. We play everything from memory and use no prerecorded music. With all 4 of us singing Lead and Backing vocals and MarkE and Joey swapping guitars for keyboards we promise to entertain at a fevered pitch. Occasionally, as a surprise, ‘drop in musical guests’ have been welcomed to the stage as no one permanently leaves our family. And we still hope that everyone Exit’s Laughing! A good time dancing and listening is always to be had at a NINE 15 performance.
Mark Bergeson – Bass Guitar, Lead and Backing Vocals
Mark is a Norseman (missed being a Viking) known for his melodic bottom-end bass guitar lines and powerful vocals. His timing is like a watch to provide a superior Rock and Roll backbone for Massachusetts’ bands like Bandit, Maelstrom, Cobblestone, Karlsbad, Exit Laughing, Audio Infidels and currently Nine15. ‘Live’ Rock and Roll performance is Mark’s favorite pastime (even in far away places like Georgia and California). Audio Engineering in his ‘Bomb Shelter’ recording studio is Mark’s second favorite pastime (helps a lot for enhancing NINE15’s live performances and demo recordings as well).
Ask and Mark will always say he would rather be playing bass and singing in front of a crowd, and, gets quite distracted by women. What’s not to like :o)
John "Doowaa" Ditty Drums lead & Back vocals
Playing since he was 10 years old, this drummer has a feel and flavor of Buddy rich to Rush. Playing in Drum corps as a kid till he was 21, He mastered the art of snare drumming and other percussion, with his first paying gig at the age of 16. He has had many Bands throughout his career, But nothing like this band..He brings an Energy and passion that cant be match in any cover band. flair, Passion, and perfection is in his vocabulary!!
