Deanna was raised all around the southeast, being a daughter of a Naval Aviator from West Virginia. Her long-gone Southern Baptist roots are still evident, her stint in New Orleans, and many long beach evenings in Florida still remain in her music. Her vocal tones reach from soft, high and sweet to growling, low and seductive, and she will do this all in one song. Reminiscent of Janis Joplin, Joan Baez, Ann Wilson, Joni Mitchel, Judy Collins, and Mary Travers, all in one package, sometimes in one song, the voice is something not to be misssed.
Deanna spreads her time between Steamboat Springs, Colorado, with a variety band named "Sundog" (Randy Kelley, Ron Wheeler, Chris Koebnick) and an Afro-Cuban band called "Caliente" (with Solange Guenier, the members of Sundog, Carey Campeschoerer and Mark Rasmussen) and St. Augustine, FL, with "Blue Sage Shoes" and "Better Half". Blue Sage Shoes features the vocal harmonies similar to Crosby, Stills and Nash with original music peppered in for spice, John Winters is a key player in the band.
Listen and have fun. Deanna has been a lot of places, and it shows in her music.
