Sean Benjamin is a singer/songwriter and performer that crosses the boundaries of alternative, pop, r&b, acoustic, folk, blues, progressive rock, swing and neo-soul. In other words, genre rules have been thrown out of the window.
The Ohio-born singer has toured across 2 continents picking up fans from Chicago to New York, London to Edinburgh, Tallahassee to Las Vegas and the college towns of the Midwest. His mischievous stage presence and persona brings an element of unpredictability to set lists and style. Benjamin has opened for a diverse array of acts such as Howie Day, The Goo Goo Dolls, Better than Ezra, Mickey Avalon, Pat Benetar, The Features, Red Wanting Blue, The Whigs, Spill Canvas and Switchfoot.
In 2011, after being discovered on The Opie and Anthony Show (in '09) on Sirius XM radio, Benjamin paired with producer Dru Boogie to release a one-of-a-kind album entitled I Exist. The 24-track collaboration features pop/rock/r&b in the format of an epic concept album where the songs flow from one to the next and featured the singles "Hypnotized", "Chain Reaction", "Should I?", "Sky Dive" and "Love Me Like a Drug"
The following release was a 20-song live anthology, chronicling solo acoustic performances over 5 years, from 2008-2013.
A second project with Dru Boogie is slated for release in 2015
Sean also tours with his band Lucky City featuring Egan Ammerman (of MINTS, Umojah Nation) on keys and Jason Seich (of League of Proper Musicians) on drums.
