Born and raised in Buffalo, NY, Dee Dray's knack for beats began as a three-year old and at the the age of 8 he began playing in church. His musical talents later earned him a spot at the Buffalo Academy for the Visual and Performing Arts where he majored in vocal and instrumental music. At Performing Arts, Dee began learning how to play the guitar and the piano. It was at Performing Arts where he began to become more of a serious performer and writer. He was a cast member in several school plays, talent shows, operas with the Buffalo Philharmonic and performing with musical legends Dave Brubeck and Kenny Rodgers . Although Dee has always loved music, it wasn’t until his junior year in high school that his flair for writing and delivering hip-hop lyrics really began. A Johnson C. Smith Alumni, he has been residing in Charlotte, NC since 2002.
