“Ali’s CD 'Make Your Move' is a melange of riff-fueled rockers that could stand up to anything broadcast on ‘The Midnight Special’ in the ’70s, dreamy singer/songwriter fare, funk workouts, and ballads spritzed with Beatles essence.” ~ Guitar Player Magazine
“[Ali Handal is] earthy, natural, real and loaded with talent…She’s a singer-songwriter with something to say… a gifted artist who brings insight and intelligence to her art.” ~ Music Connection Magazine
Best known as one of the few women in rock who can solo with the electric fury and fluid grace of a Hendrix, Slash or Page, Ali Handal is also a multi-award winning songwriter and uniquely gifted singer. Her songs have been heard in countless movies and TV shows (e.g., Sex in the City, iCarly, Dawson’s Creek, Pursuit of Happiness), and her performances have taken her from L.A. to Japan and beyond. She’s sung on a Neil Young album, performed at Michael Jackson’s Neverland Valley Ranch, written with Oscar & Grammy award winning songwriter Paul Williams, and even demonstrated guitars on “The Price Is Right.”
Performing Songwriter magazine describes Handal as “coming off as some child of ani difranco and Jimmy Page…Handal has the guitar chops and fierce voice to knock you on your butt.”
Handal is on the Artist Advisory Board of the Les Paul Experience and was asked to perform at the VIP party for the opening night of the museum exhibit. Additional Artist Advisory Board members include Steve Miller, Alan Parsons, Rick Nielsen, and Chad Smith.
In addition to her busy schedule of writing, recording and performing, Handal is touring behind the release of her guitar method book/CD “Guitar For Girls,” published by Hal Leonard. Ali’s workshops are geared towards musicians of all ages and skill levels, offering encouragement, inspiration, and real-world advice for musicians at any stage in their artistic journey. In addition to musical instruction, Ali offers valuable advice on navigating the business of music as an artist-entrepreneur, as well as exploring "the inner game of music" with her students, helping them move past whatever is preventing them from getting to that next level they're seeking.
