The Lemon Johns are an original Indie Rock project known for mixing natural and organic instruments with polyphonic vocal harmonies and syncopated rhythms.
Pioneers in the Indie Music Scene since the early 80's, Kyle McManis and Markus Smith have been performing music together since their debut with the band Single Release at North-East Middle School, in Florence Villa, Winter Haven, Florida, at the age of just Eleven years. Since that time they have written over 100 original songs in one form or another, performed around the globe, making videos and sharing real Organic sounds for the pure joy of music. Heavily influenced by The Beatles, Beethoven, Andy Warhol, Jack Kerouac, Pablo Picasso, Salvatore Dali, and the pursuit of The American Dream. Is fishing a mere reason to be doing nothing more than gazing at a lake, or is gazing at the water just a reasonable setting in which to catch fish? A great question to ponder.... while fishing. Or just gazing at the water. The wind and water play an endless song and it's beautiful when you listen right.
"As an American, I was always intrigued by John Lennon's overwhelming desire to live in America as a citizen." Markus said at the recent Grand Opening of Mr. Kite's Wild Circus Express, in The Shire. "His image was used in the anti-war effort for Vietnam before he'd even spoken about it. When he did express opposition to all war, they deported him. But John loved America so much that he politely went through years of interrogation and harassment before overwhelming public support from the Middle Class in America demanded a fair hearing, and not just because he was the biggest rock star in the planet, but because it was the right thing to do. John Lennon inspires people who have never even heard his music. The genuine presence of goodness and mercy in art."
