CANCROID comes from a Russian city called Stavropol.
First lineup was formed in 1993 and looked like this: Roman (Krys) Bykov - guitar; Dimirty (Div) Besperstov - guitar; Valeriy (Karas') Bul'chenko - bass; George Kolbasin - drums; Roman (psych) Bychkov - vocals. They played their first live show shortly after the same year. Valeriy (Karas') Bul'chenko was army drafted and his place took Aleksey (Slon) Sarychev. A year later the band lost another member Roman (psych) Bychkov, so Slon took over vocals and they found another bass player Fozzy. The band was going through major changes, guitar players constantly clashed, two drummers came and gone and the sound was forming into grind core/death metal style. Finally the golden lineup was formed in 1995, it was Aleksey (Slon) Sarychev - vocals, Vitaliy (Svin) Samoylenco - guitar, Fozzy - bass, Sergey (Buzzy) Solodkin - drums.
As the sound was getting more firm and solid, Cancroid started to go through another wave of issues. Svin got sick, Fozzy graduated the university and got drafted too, Slon formed another project called Just Terrible, Buzzy went to play for UmaThurman where he still plays with. The band had their last show in 1997 and broke up.
In 2006 Slon was offered to play for Bulldozer, that was formed by Maks (Slash) Ohrimenko and Vadim (Gorm) Moshegov who took part in earlier local projects like: Eternal Frost, Street Gang, Fester, Hell I Feel. By that time Bulldozer already went through several vocalists and drummers. Evgeniy (Fima) Efimov took part in the band same time as Slon. New tunes started to develop hard core sound that Bulldozer was leaning towards to, but they decided to drop the name and bring back to live the legendary name of CANCROID. The new style of the band can be defined as Groove Metal/Death'n'Roll. CANCROID released their debut album "Peace/Death" and an official video for one of the songs "Democracy is Dead". Right now the band is working on material for upcoming album that is planned to be released late 2013 - early 2014.
