It’s just my guitars and me. I have been playing guitar for about 18 years. I play the keys on my tracks and right now use a drum program, because as I stated earlier… its just my guitars and me. Some of my tracks feature my younger brother Jake on bass.
I like to listen to Mark Knopfler, Government Mule, Lyle Lovett, Pat Metheny, Taj Mahal, Jaco Pastorius, JJ Grey and Mofro, Pink Floyd, Frank Zappa, Yes, Mumford and Sons, Neil Young, Cash, Willy, Waylon, and Sting... I know very unlikely combinations.
Music to me is just for fun. There are too many artists who take themselves way too seriously ( and they are not even reasonably skilled musicians) , its as if they view music is reality, vis a vis to the importance to what we portray in the world... its not. Music is beautiful, fun, it's expressive, but at the end of the day its only entertainment.
I fancy myself a scholar by trade, a musician by personality, an artist by default, and a human via infinitely random series of events the brought me here today. Thus, in a short while I will be gone and my music will most likely be unknown, so I enjoy it while it is here, learn what I can, and don’t agonize over the fortunate ones who have accomplished much more than I with far less of a musical aptitude. Id rather 10 fans who appreciate my music than 1,000,000 who appreciate my trend. Although the money sure would be nice.
