Wrathiera is an American Heavy Metal band from Hyden, Kentucky. Formed on Nov. 1, 2011 by vocalist/lead guitarist Kenny Griffith, after departure with his previous band Punish Inc. The name Wrathiera, was inspired by one of the seven deadly sins, known as Wrath. Wrath, in Latin is ''Ira'', thus combining Wrath with its Latin translation, you get Wrathiera. Kenny Griffith being the only official member of Wrathiera, is known to perform live with temporary fill-ins and has has associated with several musical acts, such as Faidas and Punish Inc.. In 2013, Kenny started up the independent record label, Raiders Inc. and began producing the debut album, Full Metal Jacket.
Late 2011, demo Nuke Em All was released and featured two songs: Behind the Mask and Road Warrior. Mascot Max Hazardous, made his first appearance on the demo album artwork, which shows Max glaring at a mushroom cloud that is seen in the background. Originally, Nuke Em All was meant to contain more tracks, such as WWIII, Raidiation, and M.A.D, unfortunately audio recordings were lost.
After Kenny started his own record label, known as Raiders Inc. Wrathiera began recording their debut album Full Metal Jacket. The first track Behind The Mask released as a single, is referencing to Max Hazardous as a WWII soldier, drafted into war to combat in chemical warfare, only to tragically die. Fortunately, Max is brought back from the dead years later, to cleanse the world of its evil, and seek vengeance upon his killers.
Some lyrical themes are based on conspiracies, magic, and war. The bands Aggressive, fast-paced, and mean guitar riffs places the band's style as Heavy Metal and Thrash Metal, while some consider earlier material as Crossover Thrash.
