No Shame is a Classic Rock, Blues, and Boogie band playing locally in the Frederick, Baltimore, and DC area.
No Shame is former members of the band Straight Shooter. Here is a little bit of history behind this new endeavor. Straight Shooter was formed in the late 1980's and were together until 1996. During that time the band played the East Coast and traveled to St. Croix/U.S. Virgin Islands, Key West Florida, Snow Shoe Ski Resort and shared the stage with various National Acts such as Three Dog Night, Molly Hatchet, Don Barnes, Richard Marx, The Outlaws, Rick Derringer, Humble Pie, KIX, Jimmy Van Zant Band, Love/Hate, Colin james, Deanna Bogart, & Joe Lynn Turner (of Rainbow). In 1995 the band recorded and released the CD "Longshot". In 1996 the band decided to take a break which turned out to be 10 years long! During that time we all did a lot of growing up- Marriage, Careers, Family and other adventures- some good, some not so good! Late 2008 brought tragedy to our musical family, one of our original members Jake Lambert passed away. We will always love and think of you, as you are in all of our hearts. Your spirit will always be with us on stage. We Miss you brother!!!
Here is a little history on each of us individually.
John Sines- Drums
John started drumming at age 11, a graduate of Linganore High School he played in both the high school and jazz band. His stage experience began with Country Edition at age 15 and continued until he was 18 years old. When John was 19 he joined KP & The J's playing Classic Rock and Roll for 3 years then in the late 80's Straight Shooter was formed. Some of John's influences are Buddy Rich and good old Rock and Boogie.
Paul Ivey- Guitar/Vocals
Paul hails from the deep South raised in a musical family playing in church choirs and trios throughout childhood. He picked up a guitar at the age of 12 and is a self taught musician. Paul played in local bands in the Southeast in his youth and all through high school in Alabama. After high school in 1985 he moved to Maryland and formed a band with local players which was later known as KP & The J's. Paul played in a variety of bands throughout the late 80's and 90's plus some groups in the early 2000's the most successful being Straight Shooter. Some of Paul's influences are Stevie Ray Vaughan, Joe Perry, Keith Richards, Jimi Hendrix, George Thorogood, Eric Clapton and Robert Cray.
Roger Bowen- Bass Guitar/Vocals
Roger's love of music began at the early age of 5 growing up in Baltimore, Maryland listening to local influences like Crack the Sky, Face Dancer, the Rayvens, etc. Roger took an interest in Drums then moved on to the Trombone and then at last found his true love- Bass Guitar. Roger has played with several Mid Atlantic bands including Mid Western Blues Society, Straight Shooter, Mind's Eye & Special Delivery. Influences include Geddy Lee of Rush, Dug Pinnick of King's X, Tommy Shannon, Steve Harris and Stanley Clarke. Roger has played on various studio projects as a free lance player.
Early 2010 found three original members of Straight Shooter back together once again to form No Shame. Since getting back together No Shame has won the 2011 "Battle of the Bands" winning a spot to open up for Motley Crue and Poson at the 2011 Outlaw Jam in July 2011 at the Frederick Fairgrounds.
