Music fans are sure to love Murrieta's hybrid style of music- having received comparisons to that of Manchester Orchestra, Dustin Kensrue (Thrice), The Format, Neutral Milk Hotel, and Mumford & Sons.
The band has held quite the impact with the Arizona music scene- having been named Band of the Week by Alternative Press Phoenix, featured on the 2013 Zia Records local compilation, and played various venues in Arizona such as Marquee Theatre and Crescent Ballroom on multiple occasions. The sextet has shared the stage with acts such as Lydia, Sweettalker Kevin Devine, From Indian Lakes, Tallhart, and LA's The Lonely Wild.
The Phoenix New Times recently named Murrieta's show in January 2014 at Crescent Ballroom one of the “Top 5 Must-See Phoenix Shows of the Week”. In November 2013, Murrieta successfully raised nearly $6,000 in crowd-sourced funding through popular website Kickstarter. Of their show, a fan said, “I still can't get over how good @murrietamusic was... I can honestly say- one of my new favorite bands.”
Murrieta is now supporting the 2/4/14 release of their debut full-length album A Head & Hand, available through all digital music retailers.
