Back2basics (B2B) is a musical free style artist from the Mid West (Indiana).
His love for music started at a young age by first performing in front of his peers in Middle School. After losing his Mother at a young age and needing to support his father whom he found homeless and later found dead in a house he and his wife managed to purchase for him, his music took second place to maintain a successful business in Commercial and Industrial Real Estate that he still runs successfully today by maintaining the #1 sales volume in his field.
About Six (6) months ago stress of his past life was taking a toll and the need to get life off his chest began. Never intending to turn his vocal diary into real life, his fan base of people relating to real life art began to grow quickly. The great thing about B2B is all his work is Free Style. All one take and hear all mess ups.
B2b said it best, “It’s just real! My style of Free Style is not your typical battle on the street corner talking about Blunts & Bitches, it’s all about what I am feeling at the time and I try to tell a story from beginning to end. It’s a great challenge and a lot of fun. It’s obvious from the response of people who have no idea who I am, but listen to my lyrics that the market for my genre is lacking. I’m getting back2basics with real talk, real life and in a positive yet still hip way! You don’t have to be a gang banger or have been shot to lay down a free style. I also grew up poor and from the streets and I assure you there is another way than the path a lot of my friends and other people for that matter can take. I want to relate that in my work!”
Long and short his goal is simple, "GET BACK TO BASICS AND RELATE TO EVERY DAY PEOPLE". When asked about his work B2B simply said, "I guess this is just my diary to you. I never intended for people to hear it, but if it helps just one person, it was worth it. I was really inspired when Jay-Z laid down, Death of Auto Tunes. “Thats my motto, pick up your skirt and throw a set man! I hope you enjoy my work, but if not, enjoy what you do and do it to the best of your ability!"
