Kelly McCarthy is a classically trained recording artist, model, and performer. She is an Indie/Pop Artist who has a classical flair to her music.
She began modeling at the age of 14, and participated in IMTA (International Modeling and Talent Association), where she received call backs from top modeling agencies around the world. She wound up signing with an acting and modeling agency instead and worked through them until she was 17. She has modeled for Maybelline, Next Style, Fashion Faces magazine and Paradise Bikini. She did musical theater all through out high school, but discovered her high soprano and opera talents around her senior year. She now attend Mason Gross School of the Arts and is in the BFA music program as a vocal performance major.
Kelly McCarthy has had many leading and supporting roles in both musical theatre and opera productions. Some of her past credits include Maria in "The Sound of Music", Johanna in "Sweeney Todd", Gianetta in "L'elisir d'amore", Maybelle in "Pirates of Penzance", and more. She also is a working soloist and has performed in numerous Opera Workshops and local gigs. She has performed at NJPAC, New Jersey Youth Theatre, Franklin Theatre Works, Pineda Lyric Opera, to name a few.
She is currently studying opera at school but is a working model on the side, and is working to create her own sound in the music world. She began creating music covers on YouTube and will soon be sharing her original music with the world. She hopes to bring a more classic style into music, Indie/Pop, and modernize classical singing. She writes all of her own music and lyrics.
