Blues Chronicles was formed in Cleveland, Ohio (USA)2011, by Reese Black, Nicola Marchi and Al Moses. This acoustic/electric trio offers a style that includes Delta, Piedmont, Memphis and Chicago blues. Blues Chronicles preserves the old sound while adding a modern twist. During performances they use a combination of standard and open tuned acoustic and slide guitars, and blues harp.
Following the release of their second recording, "Right Now" (winner of the Cleveland Blues Society's, "best self produced cd" award in 2012) the trio traveled to Belfort, France to perform at the FIMU 2012 (Festival International de Musique Universitaire) where they were chosen to open and close the four day event.
When Nicola moved back to Europe in April of 2013, the trio became a duo with Al and Reese continuing to perform in the Cleveland area. Occasionally they can be seen with friends sitting in, adding another guitar or rounding up a rhythm section to play as an electric quartet. Now and then Nicola returns to Cleveland to reunite with Reese and Al bringing back that original Blues Chronicles sound with him.
