Johnny Memphis McCoy / Bio

With the Heart of a songwriter, the soul of a Poet and the atittude of a Rocker, Johnny Memphis McCoy has been plying his trade in the topsy turvy world of Rock and Roll for over 25 years. Writing and recording and releasing music independently and thru several indie based labels Five songs from McCoy's solo Electro-Metal project CRYPT33 were added to the soundtrack of Interstate Pictures zombie flick 'Pure Dead' in 2003. In 2005 UND Records was initiated in Atlanta GA as a subsidiary label. Along w/ musician's from various bands McCoy formed the bases of what would become his touring band The Lost Souls in 2007/08 to promote his solo CD releases. To date Johnny Memphis McCoy has released 5 solo CDs licensed to various labels as well as 2 full lengths w/ Hard Rockers Devil Gate Drive (w/ longtime friend and drummer Rob 'Jersey D' Singletary). He is represented by Headphone Contamination Productions.

JM has relocated back to his home state of NC."...I'm cutting back on live gigging as much in the coming years, but will continue to write and record and release material as long as possible..." says McCoy, "...but I will certainly hit the stage whenever I can...I can't stay away from the live shows for too long, it's in the blood."
