There’s a feeling of anger and disregard of oneself that has been lost in the metal scene in the recent years. That feeling that everything is not alright. What does a fan get for a $20 entry fee? With Wolves attempts with every live performance to give the fan what they pay for. Aiming to please since they were formed in 2007 under the name Paint Over Pictures, Sacramento metal band With Wolves hates themselves under the heat lamps and colored lights of the stage. Unapologetic and ruthless, they are a collective who understand the price of admission doesn’t mean one needs to see five guys who don’t want to mess up their hair or worry if a guitar breaks. They have a stomach full of beer and an ability to lay waste to the scene one chord or lead at a time. The name With Wolves spawned from that feeling of discontent they felt and the music reflects this with every scream or melody from vocalists Bryan and TJ, or the very chaotically entrenched tone from Robb, Ryan, and Clay. The wolves are at the door knocking and they’re pissed.
