It all began in the summer of 2012, when two lonely hearts -those of Sam Harvey and Lucas O'Connell- found each other at the Up and Under Pub. What ensued was a fiery explosion of funky, hard rocking sleaze that would only be tempered by the thunderous applause throughout the room. Before long, they were joined by the drummer, Richard VanDerWal, whose degree in architecture would amplify the band's prowess ten-fold (though a degree in percussion probably would have been slightly more useful).
The trio has been packing venues such as the Up and Under, Fire on Water, the Bremen Cafe, Yield Bar, and many others as well. As of April 1, 2013, Sleazebot has become the new house band for the open jam nights at the Up and Under Pub, under the leadership of Sam Harvey himself, which won for best open jam in the Shepherd Express, 2013.
This early success led to another love affair, one that would take Lucas down a separate path from the almighty Sleazebot. Fortunately, the sleaze army has recruited many super musicians during its quick rise to power. The talented gentlemen of Zach Steiner (Misha Sigfried's Band, Silky Beef, The Steiner Estate) and Marshall Holm (Draft, Groove Nation, @Holm) slay the bass with Sleazebot to keep Milwaukee's thirst for frosty funk-rock-reggae quenched through the summer of 2014 until the new Commander of Bass takes his/her/its position.
