Cleotis is Clayton Doran. Clayton is a musician, engineer, producer and, a studio recording artist. A one man band with a studio tan. Clayton writes and records all his music at Hawke Studios. All done in the sprit of Crazy Larry aka Laurence Hawke. Larry died in a fire in 1997 right before he and Clayton were going on tour with there band Hanus. They were going to open up for a national act on a US tour. After that that Clayton became tired of the band scene that he was in from the late 80s to the late 90s in South Florida. Clayton said " Played a lot of shows had fun and all most made it, but just could not keep putting up with all the dying ,lying, and crying in the South Florida scene." Clayton graduated from the Art Institute of Ft Laud with a Degree in Music Video Business. This is where he gained his love for the art of recording music. It all started with a few studio engineering jobs and demos for bands. Then he started his own apartment based studio where he recorded his music and bunch of songs for others. Still getting tired of the South Florida Life Style Clayton left the comfort of South Florida (where he had lived for 22 years) and moved to Central Florida. First getting a Apt. where he created a bedroom studio and recorded 2 albums. Then his dream came true and he moved into house by the beach where he surfed and took a two car garage and made it into project studio called Hawke Studios. Clayton is still at it everyday always on the cutting edge of sound and gear. His studio is not open to the public, but he does work with a select group of people and a production company. Clayton has recorded over 800 songs since 1999. As we speak he is in the process of recording another full length album. He also has ideas mapped out for 2 more albums at date, but that number will sure grow. He says that he misses playing out and he regularly sits in with bands. But does not miss all the drama that goes with being in a band. If a famous, established act approached Clayton to play bass, guitar, or drums- I bet he would jump on it. Cleotis is a nickname Clayton was giving in High School and stuck as a music name. Most people back in the music scene in Ft Laud were Clayton was based only knew him as Cleotis. Cleotis covers a few styles of music and has albums on iTunes. Rock, Metal, Funk, Blues, Reggae, Rap, Guitar Instrumental, and Electric are his passion. Clayton said " if it weren't for music and the ocean I would be a lost soul". Remember Music Is a Art not just lines on a paper. It is so subjective and opinionated that people forget that it is art sometimes!!!!! Peace to you and yours!
