Fight the Swing is a band of friends from Melbourne, Florida who play an ecclectic mix of Rock and Roll, Post Punk, Gypsy and Indie Rock. Formed in 2012 as a rotating collective of musicians, the group soon melted down to the current lineup of Tone Egan (Guitar, Vocals), John Giles (Bass, Vocals), Joey Egan (Drums), Andy Wolking (Guitar, Violin).
The ecclectic style of the band is something that deeply reflects their varied influences.
Tone Egan apprenticed under Walter Urban Jr. one of Dizzy Gillespie's bass players and Flea from the Red Hot Chilli Peppers father.
Joey Egan was also fortunate to have been taught by Buddy Miles from Jimi Hendrix's band of Gypsys. John Giles was the member of the deeply influential florida band St. Clair, and Andy Wolking is a classically trained violn player and educator.
The band is renouned for it's intense and entertaining live shows and is a regular feature on the east florida punk scene.
