"Dawn of Kelly" is an up and coming, uplifting & inspiring songwriter who ministers through Gospel rap songs. Kelly Dawn Miller received her ministry name from the Lord after praying for guidance regarding going into the world with the ministry of her songs. She remembered at one point reading the meaning of the name Kelly was warrior. As she began to seek out a name to use for ministry, the Lord pointed out to her that her name, Kelly Dawn should be transposed to get His meaning: Dawn (first light of day or the beginning of a thing) - Of -Kelly (Warrior) The beginning of the warrior, fighting the good fight of faith.
Kelly is the wife of Marshall V. Miller and together they have five blessed children. They are Christopher, Jasmine, Kenedy, Adrian and Conoley.
She was last employed by an insurance company in Irving, Texas. In August 2011, she walked away from employment into handling only the Lord's work and the needs of her family and household.
Kelly was born to her single mother, Bettie Joyce Williams in Dallas, Texas on May 28, 1971. As a child, she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and was baptized. She has been a member of and attended local churches such as Greater El Bethel Baptist Church, East Gate Baptist Church and Friendship West Baptist Church (all in Dallas, Texas). In March of 2003, Kelly made The Potter's House Church her church home and is pleased to say that the Bishop T.D. Jakes is her Pastor.
In about 2002, Kelly was beginning to learn about the power of words and what we say. As her faith grew, she knew that she needed to do something to grab a hold of this spiritual principal. The Lord gave her what she thought at that time was just an easy way to speak words of love, abundant life, healing, joy, peace, praise, faith and the like - "Put it in a song!" She wrote songs that she could use to renew her mind according to God’s Word and to minister change, healing, encouragement and godliness to herself. The rest has been what she now recognizes as her journey. Once she had the first song recorded in about 2008, she gave some serious thought to releasing her songs publically, but only knew for certain that God fully expected her to minister these songs to His people since about September of 2009.
Kelly knows that the goodness of God’s grace and mercy, through her faith in Jesus Christ has brought her through some of life's toughest circumstances, those brought on by others as well as those brought on by her own poor choices. God has given her beauty for her ashes and restores all things that through deception, the enemy stole in her life.
Now is the time for the Dawn of Kelly.
