Fallen Fronds is the electronic outfit/band founded in 2011 and fronted by LA-based producer/DJ Charles Guilterre, best known for his Hump Wednesday parties in New York City's East Village in the late 1990s. Raised on Motown, Guilterre found his groove in late 70s pop and disco, new wave and industrial in the 1980s, trip hop/ambient/progressive house in the 1990s, and whatever-you-want-to-call-it electronic music of the present.
Since its creation in April 2011, Fallen Fronds has been defining its electronic sound through remix projects and production work for other upcoming artists. The Fallen Fronds sound can be described as experimental electro, the bulk of these sounds provided by Guilterre’s collection of analog synthesizers. The Fallen Fronds' debut EP, Thermal Breakdown, was released in October 2012. The follow-up to last year's debut, Pleather Grip (release date: June 25, 2013) sees Fallen Fronds' synthwave/electro sounds go a bit deeper and darker, adding grittier vocals reminiscent of Matt Johnson and Leonard Cohen, telling tales of love and loss.
