North Country Blonde is Summer Cheyenne, Mark Piekos, Max Ellis and Rachel Edwards
Summer Cheyenne Hallenstein is a singer songwriter from Woodstock, IL. Growing up she spent her days listening to Jazz and has been influenced by artists such as Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday. She went on to sing jazz at various open mics, jazz jams, Woodstock’s Jazz Fest, and other venues.
Summer also has a background in theatre and dance and has been performing in musicals for most of her life. She graduated from Millikin University with a BM in commercial music and a theatre minor. While at school she explored other musical styles and began songwriting and recording music. She fell in love with writing and continues to write, perform, and record original music to this day. She is currently a part of the band North Country Blonde.
Mark Piekos has been playing guitar, singing and writing songs since age fifteen. His musical experience began in his parent's basement where he uncovered his father's Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen and John Prine 45's. He has since played with numerous bands, including Empty V, The Usual, Knockemstiff, The Storefront Lawyers and Scooter and the Contraband.
Max Ellis is a trained upright and electric bass player. He studied Music Business at Western Illinois University with bass as his major instrument. His list of influences range from John Entwistle to Charles Mingus to Pino Palladino.
Rachel Edwards holds a graduate degree in Violin Performance from The University of Missouri. She has been playing violin since the age of five and has shared the stage with orchestras all around the country.
