Shamie Allyz is an aspiring Rnb/Soul/HipHop/Christian singer/lyricist/songwriter. She showed an interest in lyric/songwriting from the age of 8. From a young age Shamie and her young brother would use their father's cassette radio to record their songs. The Zimbabwean born singer has been inspired by a number of artists such as: Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Alicia Keys, Aaliyah, Lira, Zahara, Colbie Calliat, Usher, Keyshia Cole, Monica, Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera, Ne Yo, Elton John, Kirk Franklin, Emeli Sande, Hillsong United. She has been performing as a solo singer from the age of fifteen.
In 2007, she received a Grade One in the Vocal Solo category, for her song 'Touched by an Angel' at the Vocal and Instrumentals Festival. Shamie joined her Gateway High School band in 2008 for a year as a vocalist, while in the band she co-wrote lyrics for one of their songs 'My Love Dont Die.
Encouraged by her mother and her friends she began to record her songs from 2012 whilst studying English Literature at Aberdeen University. She continued performing in Aberdeen for small events. Despite facing certain circumstances, Shamie wishes to inspire a lot of people with everything she does. She has currently graduated from Aberdeen University and just started studying Masters in Ayr. Shamie will continue to work hard to build her songwriting/modeling &creative writing career as a way of encouraging others not to give up.
