Transforming and activating hearts, minds & booties one song at a time, the trio of musicians that encompass RevelleveR began collaborating and conspiring back in 2010 with the intention of sharing primarily original songs blending all of their favorite aspects of reggae, jam rock, classic rock and more. They began to craft a sound that would embrace the dance-ability and improvisational aspects of the rock and jam rock music they loved as well as the hypnotic rhythms and the socially progressive and spiritually uplifting vocal aspects of reggae music. Knowing that their catchy new sound would need a name, the band began to call their Rock-Reggae-Fusion sound “Luvolutionary Roots-Inspired Rock”.
By breaking free of the traditional confines of genre-classification, RevelleveR invites the audience themselves to break free of their own self-limiting thoughts and habits and to join them in waging a “Luvolution”. Further separating RevelleveR from more conventional “rock” bands is the lack of either an electric or acoustic guitar, opening the sound up to keyboard, bass and drum solos more typically over-shadowed by wailing guitars. While RevelleveR's sound is truly all their own, some of RevelleveR's musical inspirations and heroes include: Michael Franti, Bob Marley & The Wailers, The Grateful Dead, Widespread Panic, Wookie Foot, Matisyahu, Keller Williams, String Cheese Incident, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, and more regional favorites like Alcyon Massive, SolSeed and Indubious. With rich harmonies, lilting melodies, lyrical bass lines and rhythms to get bodies moving, Revellever's genre-defying sound can best be described as Reggae meets Jam rock with classic rock, world, blues, bluegrass and tribal flavors. With decades of original compositions and a small handful of carefully-selected cover tunes, RevelleveR offers a very fresh yet vaguely familiar sound.
Based out of Eugene, Oregon, RevelleveR is: T-Roy on Bass & Vox, Nanda on Percussion & Vox and Bear on Keys & Vox. Having been an integral part of 2012’s Coyote Festival line-up (and returning for 2013) as well as this past fall’s Portland Pranksters’ Ball Further After-parties, and having shared the stage with the likes of Blue Lotus, I-Chele and the Circle of Light, Singing Bear, The Conjugal Visitors, Frankie Hernandez Band, Organik Time Machine, The Escort Service, Arden Park Roots and numerous others, RevelleveR is ready to raise the vibrations on a moment’s notice and on Northwest stages both large and small. Welcome to the Luvolution!!!
