Matthew Thomas (yours truly) comes clean from Boone County, WV (an usual feat in itself). Around the age of 14, I commandeered a mandolin that someone had given my father, and, to his sorrow, became a folk singer. After acquiring enough knowledge on the mandolin to annoy the whole family, I picked up a few other instruments (but eventually had to put them back) including the banjo, harmonica, and guitar. Now I mostly stick to guitar and banjo (The guitar I currently play was handed down to me by my grandfather. Unfortunately he was still on the ladder when the cops showed up). I started writing songs seriously in my senior year of high school. Music ranging from original compositions to hardcore folk material. Blues, ballads, spirituals, and everything in between. Most of the recordings are currently have on here are sort of old, but should give you some idea of how I sound.
