The A-Hole Manifesto:
Alright, here's the low-down: we're a funky, soulful, jazzy, progressive, hard-rock, alternative, novelty, what-have-you band from Long Island, New York. We really don't care much about genre labels because, frankly, we don't quite fit into one. Our overall vision is, ultimately, just to create music that is fun to play and is even more fun to listen to. While we respect technicality and chops, our focus is much more oriented around groove and feel. We see no reason why a song can't be both progressive and danceable. And while we take our craft very seriously, we always ensure to infuse an extra-large dose of goofiness into our recordings and live shows.
While the group may be named after J.A. due to a rather amusing pun we came up with a while back, the title is anecdotal. We have songs on our setlist written by all 3 current members, and the song learning process is always a collective one. We all have our unique styles of playing and writing which always end up interacting and creating a finished song that is, more often than not, better than the original composition. In this way, we are a true band; not just a group of musicians rallied behind a single creative machine.
