Finlee aka Troy Finely was born on June 22, 1990 in the heart of the Bronx, NY. His stay there was short-lived because in 1997 Finlee was faced with the reality of his parents splitting up. The decision to move to Raleigh, North Carolina changed the dynamic of his life forever. The transition from living with two parents to living with just one, his mother, was a hard burden to bare. The second oldest of four left him to be a role model to his younger brother and sister and also making him the head of the household. His passion for music immediately fell to the back burner while his responsibilities to keep the family above poverty came to the forefront. During his high school years Finlee became the menace of his friends and one of the founding members of a clique called AGAB. AGAB was a group of young men that were bonded by a brotherhood that could not be broken. During this hiatus, AGAB, experienced the luxury of money, girls, and power. Immediately, their brotherhood became one of the most talked about cliques in Raleigh. Although everyone has taken their separate paths, that brotherhood is something that can never be taken away from them.
Finlee's life slowly began to mend together again; His family was comfortable and the college life was rapidly approaching. Things were looking up, but he felt incomplete. With the thoughts of his father and constant lyrics running through his head, he still felt alone. He wrote down his feelings and was given the opportunity to express them in the booth. Since then he never looked back. His music is his story and his story is real. Finlee is the voice of the people. Just take a listen.
