just an ol' country boy from backwoods Georgia, Rusty knails has been involved in music for most of his life. From the age of 12 when he first picked up a guitar and started developing his craft. " I don't know what it was about the guitar but I took to it and never looked back", said knails. though his style of music is unique and based on country roots, Knails never saw himself as being a country artist. " I grew up playing a lot of heavy metal you know like metallica, megadeth, ozzy, Sabbath, all those guys were huge influences on me and how I sound today". while country is where his roots are Knails tries to incorporate many genres together to create his "own" sound. " while I played a lot of heavy metal there was always one man I looked to, well one group of people I should say...that was the old school outlaws, joohnny cash and Waylon, I've always looked up to cash because he was "the man in black" and now that he's gone on this new generation need a new man in black". "here are many different sub-genres in country music today but how many are "REAL" country music its not the way it should be anymore, its all about how many records can we sell, not how much of our soul is in it.". While Rusty just recently broke into the country scene he has already been with major country icons and rising stars from Colt Ford and Corey smith to Charlie Daniels and Atlanta Rhythm Section. still growing his fan base and preparing for his first album Rusty Knails is becoming a striving force in country music.
