Troy Lennerd Nielsen is a professional Music composer, guitarist, instructor and music engraver. Troy now has enjoyed 25 years as a professional and a Bachelors Degree in music composition and performance from the University of Utah.
As a music composer, Troy's music has been performed in every continent, worldwide, and has been toured, by many musicians on numerous occasions. Awards include: The Marget Jory Fairbanks award from the American Music Center, 6 time recipient of the ASCAP Plus Award, and the Composers Guild Contest -first place in two categories. Commissions Include several works for Modern Dance, Solo Instruments, chamber music and film.
Being A classical and Jazz guitarist he has enjoyed providing his services to clientele that includes: The Utah Symphony, Mayors’ Rocky Anderson and Peter Coroon, Randal Carlie, The Metropolitan Restaurant, La Callie Restaurant and Snowbird Lodges. His repertoire includes music from the Renaissance, Baroque, Classical and Modern periods.
Troy has been a music instructor for over 23 years focusing on instruction in classical and jazz guitar and music composition/theory. He currently teaches at Murphy's Guitars and has a regular weekly roster of students. Troy has held positions at Acoustic Music, Roland Hall, Realms of Inquiry, Guitar City, Holiday Music, and his private studio in Salt Lake City.
Troy is also a music engraver and Copyist and has provided services for the University of Utah, Ricklen Nobis, Carlton Vickers and other notable music studios and individuals.
Troy is a member of ASCAP, The Society of Composers (SCI) and The American Music Center, His music is published by LenMuse Music and Great River Books.
