Nick Collins’ booming bass and soaring vocals create a comforting and bluesy feel, accompanied by the sound of Josh Stansfield’s soulful lead guitar that embodies both a declarative and explorative sensation, and Justin Ehrlich’s explosive drums. The band is diverging from the ideology of Blues-Rock purists, by creating a fresh alternative and noteworthy sound that is reminiscent of the Allman Brothers, The Black Crowes, and Kings of Leon.
Nick and Justin have been playing together in various bands since they first met at Towson University in 2004, and once Josh met the duo, the band Nicky C and the RSB has become unstoppable. This three-member band began close to the nation’s capital in Fairfax, VA, in December of 2012. The band released their first self-titled EP in June of 2013, paving the way for their first, full-length album released in August 2014, “Much Obliged”. Since their formation they have played at over 50 shows and festivals such as The Mad Tea Party Jam 3, Doah Fest and Not Fade Away. Two upcoming festivals that they will be performing at this fall are Pink Moon 6 in September and Home Town Get Down 7 this October.
Nicky C and the RSB have shared the stage with headlining artists like Papadosio, The Werks, Dopapod, Tauk, PBR, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Turkuaz and ELM. They also directly supported fellow artists like Jimkata, Spiritual Rez, The Heavy Pets, American Babies, Stokeswood, The Shack Band and Moogatu.
