Louisa had her first single 'Stand Up' released on Wass Records in September 2013 on long term writng partner and producer Andy Taylor's El Pantano album.
Monkey Boxing Magazine had this to say of it; ""One of the biggest highlights of El Pantano, has to be this LP’s collab with vocalist Louisa Rox – the righteous and timely reggae-tinged fight-the-power anthem Stand Up. Indeed. Don’t mind if I do.""
Her second single 'Pray' is due out in 2014.
Combining a deep love of Gospel and soul music with contemporary jazz, funk and chillout tones, Louisa's music is fresh, ecclectic and funky with heavy beats but soulful undertones throughout.
After spending some years in Africa Louisa has more recently been influenced by more African, hip hop and reggae tones also and co-wrote a few songs with Headbangaz Records in Nairobi, Kenya including the RnB smooth jam 'Where you At' with artist David Major and 'Young Life' a Swahili rap collab with rapper Jasto G Dash.
Louisa has also written/recorded with accomplished TV and film score writerDavid M Saunders on the huge funk number 'Jusy Beneath your Soul'. Louisa has also sang with various resident musicians at a string of performances with the Ronnie Scott's jazz band at the renowned London jazz venue.
Louisa was also previously a lead singer with the Glasgow Gospel Choir; Intrasound Band; Different Faces Jazz Band, a Glasgow jazz collective; and she was also an artist and songwriter on Scottish record label Refo Recordings.
