Motel Model is an alternative rock band: Josh Ben is from Philadelphia and Vocals. Jackson McCauley and Will Schutt are both from Michigan, playing Drums and Guitar respectively.
In 2009, Will and Josh, then freshman at the University of Michigan, met and began writing songs. The two won over a few reluctant fans by making too much noise at night. By 2011, they had recorded a group of songs but hadn't a clear identity. Will had plans to go to Spain and Josh, Australia. Both felt themselves evolving as musicians. While in Spain, Will met Jackson, also a student at the University of Michigan. He played Jackson a couple of demo tracks and Jackson immediately began writing drum lines. On crinkled paper, torn napkins, and upside down trash bins, Jackson mapped out the notes he'd play when he got back home to a drum set.
Upon returning to school, the three got to work. And many long nights, cold beers, wrong chords, bad cables, and angry amplifiers later, the group was ready to hit the studio.
In 2013, Motel Model released their debut EP entitled Jukebox Moon.
