Steven Paul Clisset has been playing and writing songs since his early teens. He was weaned on madrigal music in high school and that experience has led him to the philosophy that making music is act of listening. He has had the honor of playing on the Library Stage at Lincoln Center in New York City, Lincoln Center in Ft. Collins, CO and even at the Houston Astrodome. However, the majority of his musical life has been playing in local clubs and churches in the Boulder, CO area.
Mike Waldhoff (drummer) and Steve played together in the distant past and have reconnected along with Pete Jacobs to form Clisset & Company. As is common in music it just sort of occurred one day when we were all at the same church, had some time between services and just started jamming. It was effortless from the start.
We all have a strong belief in the live music experience. Mike only likes playing on real drums. No synthesized sound from rubber pads for him. Pete prefers the natural sounds of the upright bass. Adding their gifts and creative expression to the mix has helped Steve realize new insights and deliveries of songs he has song most his life and has raised them to a higher level.
