Founded December 2012, MUDHIR is different than anything positive, yet positively different.
Town Boy (TB/Alleged Blacc) recruited producer Mr. SageBrush (Vitto de Lnegro) to document the words via South Africa for a ubiquitous hip hop project. Upon hearing TB's flow, SageBrush signed on, and the pursuit of recognition hasn't stopped since. The dichotomy of the duo MUDHIR was apparent from day one.
SageBrush is a multi instrumentalist, engineer, singer, and former front man of 5 Acres of Fear
TB is a storyteller in the most truthful sense. TB also had a hand in producing various tracks for MUDHIR. Primarily, TB is an MC. The odd connection between these two artists cannot be understood, but also cannot be denied.
Various artists have collaborated with MUDHIR before, including Big Noms, Jay Federal, Freestyle Phil, DefEye, Universal Vagrant, DJ Hilo, Phlai B, Bushwick Bill, Mateo's Finest, ShoreViewCriminals, Nuestra X, Native Nashuns, and North Delano Reapers.
In 2013 KD the Golden Oso joined on as a songwriter, hypeman, and fulltime lyrical contributor.
Town Boy (aka Zed) originally hails from the west coast of South Africa, namely Durban. His experiences are the definition of this particular story telling genre. For more on that, listen to the lyrics. The main distinguishing sound for MUDHIR is TB's unique voice, flow, and multi-lingual vernacular.
Mr. SageBrush began producing beats in 1992, out of North Central San Mateo, California. His first recognition (on a regional level) happened in 1999 from "New Latin America", released on vinyl in San Francisco. He continued to produce independently until 2004. In 2006 he helped form the band 5 Acres of Fear as songwriter and frontman, resulting in their debut record "More Anguish for Your Pleasure". That project continued until August 2012 before breaking up, but played many shows in and around San Francisco (with various lineups). Shortly after, he met TB, who convinced him to get back to his hip hop roots.
In 2013 KD Tha Golden Oso was tapped to be hype man/ lyrical contributor.
In April of 2014, MUDHIR released 4 full length independent LP's: "The Gamblers Vol.1", "The Gamblers Vol. 2", "Love, War, God, and Consequences", and "Worlds Apart". Although released all at one time, the records were released semi chronologically, with "Worlds Apart" being recorded from January 2014 to March 2014. They also released "Sucka Free Mixtape" which featured reworked tunes from Mr. SageBrush of popular arrangements.
MUDHIR is now in the process of filling out their roster with unique female R&B talent, a more positively based lyrical mantra, and a sound that gets folks dancing. That said, we don't come from happy backgrounds, and will never half step when speaking our minds. It ain't for fake.
Scars don't heal. Mistakes are only obvious when pointed out. Crimes only happen when you get caught.
