John Plenge's 2012 Project: A Language of Loners and Dreamers
Each week a new song or instrumental piece of music and video will be created and streamed
throughout 2012 from various music studio spaces in NYC.
Some weeks will feature guest musicians, filmmakers, writers, and artists during these weekly music sessions. A running archive of all the sessions will be posted here and in various spots on the web.
I will be recording in various rehearsal studios, music studios ,home studios, apt.'s and cafes here in
NYC every week with my various instruments and mobile recording gear and will be chronicling the
creative process with the stories, ideas, musical inspirations and recording tools and methods behind each of the weekly recordings.
The audio and video recordings will be streamed via various web pages and available for others to listen to
and take a peek into the creative process.
I plan on performing select pieces from this project at two or three live shows as the year progresses so...
and thanks for joining me..

A cinematic Bob Dylan meets Radiohead.
Train with a New York Edge
John Plenge writes songs with fantastic imagery that engage ones visualization and sensitivities, With a sound that has its roots in folk, rock and soul, it is apparent that he draws his influences from masters such as; early Bowie, the Beatles, Elton John, U2, Coldplay, Otis and Marvin! Check out "All," "Reunion," and "My HomeTown," "Dragon Fly, "A Steady Rain is Falling On New York.
"I'm sure you'll agree. As familiar as his voice sounds there is still an elusiveness that merits the word 'original' in describing Plenge's art.
John sings from and to the soul, with a clean, clear vocal style that has a sprinkling of grit and a dash of angst - very easy to understand and wrap your ears around! His live shows are engaging and he surrounds himself with top notch, sensitive musicians. His band is called The tOne_fAcTory.
I recommend you see/hear them for yourself. If you like heartfelt lyrics, and dynamic artistry in your music you'll love John Plenge and The tOne_fAcTory.
