The Darners are an original rhythm & blues-rock outfit from the Twin Cities. Drawing upon their diverse influences from past (Son House, The Beatles, The Byrds, Led Zeppelin, James Brown) and present (Umphrey's McGee, Jack White, Medeski Martin & Wood, Tame Impala, The Roots), The Darners utilize their unique musical credentials to create an innovative sound while maintaining a familiar feel.
Each Darner contributes a distinct but cohesive style to the band's ethos. Guitarist and blues crooner Jake blazes an unapologetic path of soulful all-American blues, of which John, bassist and vocalist, fortifies with an infusion of tonality reminiscent of classic British rock. Adam, keyboardist and vocalist, reinforces the harmonic synthesis with his intellectual mastery of jazz piano. Robb, whose drumming chops are forged from years of experience playing in drum corps and Army bands, provides his intuitive and metronomic rhythm to the mix creating not only a firm cornerstone for the band, but also a lush pocket for the music to comfortably groove in.
The Darners are a group of hard-working musicians dedicated to sharing their love of blues, soul, and rock & roll with a whole new generation. They're pretty darn happy to have your support.
