Ron started his metal journey back in 1985 in high school when his first band won a talent contest with 2 of his original songs. Ron later went on to found Last Legacy with Robert Alaniz. Last Legacy was later to feature guitar mastermind Joey Sanchez and drummer Ace Tyler, and enjoyed local and regional notoriety. Alas, Ron lost interest after the departure of Mr. Sanchez and went into a 4 year sabbatical. Ace moved to Arizona (?!?!) and Ron became the "Producer of choice" for many regional acts in the south Texas area. In 2007, Ron formed Refuge Denied after reuniting with Ace and adding the brothers Smith (Rampage, Sudden Impact) to the lineup. However, it was not to last due to some personal issues that Ron was having that are far too embarrassing and stupid to discuss here. Ron continued to write and record under the moniker Refuge Denied, but grew weary of the Texas scene and relocated to New Mexico (!!!???). It was there that he met Roger Victor at Terry Lees 'Los Lunatikz' studio. Roger's musical interests and Ideas for direction as well as his willing eagerness and ability, stepping up on lead vocals appealed to Ron Legacy. Now combining both mens audio engineering and electrical backgrounds, Roger Victors' whailing rustic vocals and angelic writing, with Ron's chainsaw rhythm and eclectic writing style and vocals, is a match ordained by God. A match made in Heaven !! Eddie "X" Pooacha's pounding drums and backing vocals are joined up with John Longbows' pounding Bass riffs. In 2010 began recording a three CD catalog of new original songs that was going to be entitled "Melting Faces".Also about five or so previously released songs from Ron's "Last Legacy Band" were REmixed, and Remastered and were to be featured on the Melting Faces Project that came to a screeching halt in late 2010 with maybe 90% completed. At this time after much discussion, Ron recruited an old acquaintance he had run into now living in Albuquerque NM, from Houston TX. named Adrian Steele. With Adrians lightening smooth lead guitar riffs Refuge Denied Metal was surely onto bigger and better times. Well all this was short lived as Ron became ill and was out of the loop and the picture. At this time Ron transfered "ALL" authority of ownershipof all master tracks, sound recordings of the whole ball of wax Roger Victor secured all the wonderful art we wrote, recorded, and performed in front of the cameras with U.S Copyright Office .. copyrights, full Rights and Permissions of all the melting faces songs, Refuge Denied and Last Legacy recordings to Roger Victor. Ron and Roger had become very fond of each others ideas for the direction....So now contemplating our direction and pondering upon which way to go with it, we decided after six months off to continue forward. But after just a few gigs with the prospects of a nationwide tour unfolding into our lap, Adrian Steele became ill with liver disease. We hope and pray for both Ron and Adrians recovery!!!!
So in the face of many obstacles and setbacks Roger Victor has decided to go ahead and release a cd with some of the never before heard melting faces material which will include a few songs from Last Legacy and early Refuge Denied. A new single entitled "Devils Highway" ( dedicated to Apache Junction Arizonas Finest )is in the final stages and hopefully will make it onto the CD. Look for this CD before the end of 2012. The CD will be entitled..Refuge Denied Metal, "Tribute To Ron Legacy 2012".
