HOT BREAKFAST! are winners of two 2012 Homey Awards; for BEST EP for their self-titled EP released in July 2012, and for BEST LEAD SINGER for Jill Knapp's larynx-wielding skills.
With a penchant for theatrical covers (“Total Eclipse of the Heart,” Queen’s theme song from Flash Gordon) and hard-rockin’ originals, HOT BREAKFAST! is no background music act. Matt and Jill demand your attention with stunning vocals, dorky humor, furious guitar work, snappy percussion, and their disturbingly attractive bodies – no wonder they are renowned as Delaware’s Premier Acoustic Dork-Rock Power Duo.
Jill Knapp and Matt Casarino first bonded in 2002 over a shared love of hopelessly outdated 16K computers and dorky wordplay. They started making music a few months later. It sounded good. Really good. HOT BREAKFAST! was born.
HOT BREAKFAST! has already melted faces throughout Delaware, Philadelphia, and many other venues from house concerts in Phoenix to outdoor festivals in Austin and Reno. Their singles “It Only Takes Two to Rock,” “Hole In Your Pants,” and "An Idiot for Christmas" have been getting local airplay, and they don’t feel the least bit bad about it.
Sure they could brag about all the fantastic bands they’ve gigged with (Jill tours with LA’s Industrial Jazz Group, Matt jams with Mary Arden Collins, they both sing & play with the Joe Trainor Trio, they recently performed with Australia’s chart topper Kate Miller-Heidke), but that’s not their style. Their style? Rock. Dork Rock.
