Founded in October of 2012, Hate Grenade was built on a foundation of ambition, revolution, and sonic destruction.
Initially comprised of Chuck Lavera (guitars), Mike Powers (drums), and Jeff Glace (vocals) – Hate Grenade began writing in late October (2012) while auditioning bass players from around the area. After several months of searching, the group was joined by bassist Rich Johnson; one year later (May 31, 2013) - Hate Grenade performed live for the first time in Altoona, PA.
Riding a continuous wave of local shows and minor success, Hate Grenade used their unique brand of hard-hitting music, live performances, and relentless nu-metal attack to quickly capture the attention of fans, fellow musicians, promoters, and venues alike. With the completion and launch of their debut EP "Reload" (February 2014), and two supporting music videos (“Reload” & “Lies”) released later that same year, the band had managed to forcefully carve their name into the regional music scene.
2013 and 2014 witnessed Hate Grenade launch assaults on area stages spanning, PA, MD, WV, VA, and NY, including performances with national recording artists: Nonpoint, (Hed) p.e., The Dreaming (featuring Chris Hall of Stabbing Westward), Psychostick, Super Bob, Straight Line Stitch, and 40 Below Summer, to name a few.
If their initial impact is a sign of things to come, Hate Grenade is set for an action-packed 2015.
Future goals include: Completion of their first full-length album, extensive touring and a copious amount of tom-foolery.
