Clive Hudson immediately hired her as a newscaster on his popular radio show aired on WNWK 105.9 fm in New York. Clive Hudson later encouraged his “protege” to produce and broadcast her own radio shows. She was known as “DubWonder” and was loved and cherished by a multicultural radio audiences for more than a decade.
Amari studied Computer Programing at SCS Business Institute in New York, then later attended Florida Metropolitan University where she studied Criminal Justice then attended Nova SouthEastern University in Florida where she majored in International Law and also Psychology. Currently she attends Full Sail University where she is pursuing a Film Bachelor of Science Degree. “To me. these are great accomplishments,” she states. Undoubtedly, she turned around her life after dropping out of school at age 14, she gave birth to her first child at age 15.
Over the years, A'mari "DJ Mona-Lisa" emerged into the music industry as music master rater, rating more than 10,000 songs on Launchcast ; she also created her own online radio stations, websites and social networks. The DJ Mona-Lisa Broadcasting Show is hosted on Blog Talk Radio and relates to social issues and relationships. The show is very spiritual and motivational yet comical and empowers her worldwide audience significantly.

A friend gave her the name Mona-Lisa while conversing with her oneday. He stopped her in the middle of the conversation and said, “You should be called “Mona-Lisa”, you are so beautiful.”

She states that it is very therapeutic and have helped her to overcome the stigmas of child molestation and rape which she suffered as a child; She was sexually abused from age 8 and was raped at age 11. “Thesexymonalisa” is the voice of teens worldwide and is the founder of DJ Mona-Lisa Broadcasting, a nonprofit organization that focuses on helping the public to be aware of child molestation and rape and how they affects lives.
DJ Mona-Lisa is an outstanding motivational speaker who sometimes confides to close friends that “Someday I will be one of the world’s greatest evangelist but tell no-one!”
In November 2012, A'mari was hospitalized after suffering from food poisoning. She then made a pact with God to return back to her music career as a singer/songwriter. “I would feel very ill after I was discharged from the hospital; I sang to stay alive.” she states.
A few months after she wrote and recorded multiple hit songs including “Don’t Wanna Lose You”, “It’s Your World”, “Goddess” “Juicy Ain’t It” and “Sleepless Nights”.
In October 2013, A'mari met into a serious car accident while driving with her family.
She refers to the incident as “another intervention by God; this time she made another pact to begin performing on stage. She then recorded “Rising Star”, "Adonai", and "Epistles of Love" and more hit renditions.
